Your books.
Your privacy.
E-reader USB Sync does not upload your books or library records to us. There are no app accounts, ads, tracking or analytics SDKs.
Who we are
E-reader USB Sync is maintained by whiskerworks-dev. For privacy questions or requests, contact whiskerworks@nxtlab.dev.
The folders you choose
You choose a book folder and an e-reader folder using Apple’s Files picker. The app reads source filenames, book details and embedded EPUB covers to show your books. To check what is already on your reader, it lists filenames in the selected reader folder and accessible subfolders; it does not read existing reader books for comparison.
When you tap Send, the app copies missing files to the selected reader. It checks newly transferred bytes for copy integrity. It does not delete or replace existing reader files, and removing a source book does not remove its reader copy.
Records stored by the app
The app stores remembered folder permissions and folder names, a comparison snapshot, recent successful transfers and the latest transfer diagnostic record in its own app storage. These records can include filenames, relative paths, sizes, integrity hashes, filesystem identifiers, timestamps and transfer dates. Embedded cover thumbnails are cached locally. We do not receive these records automatically.
Local records remain until replaced by newer records, removed with the app or otherwise cleared by the operating system. Changing a selected folder changes the folder the app uses; it does not promise to erase earlier transfer history. Deleting the app through iPhone/iPad storage settings removes its local app data under normal system behavior; offloading the app retains its data. Source books and completed reader copies remain separate.
Your choices and backups
Choose different folders in Settings whenever no transfer is running, decline or cancel a folder selection, or stop using the app. The app relies on access Apple grants through the picker and may ask you to select a folder again if that access expires. The app does not scan other apps’ private libraries.
App data may be included in device or iCloud backups depending on your settings. Deleting the app does not necessarily remove older backups; manage those separately in Apple’s backup settings. Files providers, including iCloud Drive, may download selected books or request sign-in under their own privacy policies. The app does not operate a cloud-transfer service.
Optional error details and support
After a failed transfer you can choose Share error details and select a recipient using Apple’s share sheet. Nothing is sent automatically. The report contains the app build, date, counts, transfer steps, general storage format and bounded error codes. It excludes book names and contents, full folder paths, integrity hashes, account details and device identifiers.
If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message and any diagnostic report. We use it to answer your question and resolve the problem, retain it only as long as needed for that purpose and any legal obligations, and do not use it for advertising. Contact us to request access, correction or deletion of support information we hold. Please do not send books, passwords or private screenshots.
Our GitHub issue tracker is public. Use the private contact above for personal information. GitHub and your chosen mail or sharing provider process information under their own policies.
Apple and TestFlight
Apple operates App Store purchases, TestFlight and optional system diagnostics under its own policies. Apple may make crash reports and TestFlight feedback available to the developer depending on your choices and the service. These can contain technical information and anything you submit with your feedback. We use them to investigate app problems, not for advertising. See Apple’s privacy information.
This website
These privacy and support pages use GitHub Pages hosting. We add no analytics, advertising, cookies, remote fonts or contact forms to these pages. GitHub logs visitors’ IP addresses for security purposes when serving GitHub Pages, including for visitors who are not signed in. GitHub handles that information under its privacy statement; this is separate from the app’s local book processing.
Changes and questions
We will update this page and its date if the app’s data practices change. For questions about this policy or your information, contact whiskerworks@nxtlab.dev. For help using the app, visit Support.
